Taekwon-do-Wales Elite Tournament Team Results 2025

It’s been a busy year for Taekwon-do-Wales Elite Tournament Team who are growing in strength each year. This year the team saw 27 competitors step foot on the mats to represent Taekwon-do-Wales, competing in 14 tournaments around the country.

At the end of 2023, the decision was made to re-vitalize the tournament team, with a goal to put Taekwond-do-Wales back on the circuit and to raise its reputation again, since it had dwindled slightly post covid. 2024 we initiated the rebuild of the team, taking our small 5 to 7 competitor team to 16 regular competitors, along with numerous students having their first experience of tournaments.

2025 saw the team grow in strength and confidence, with a large portion of the team now competing at the highest level in Black Belts categories. We have also seen the introduction of our younger team (little feet), who are developing nicely to become the future black belt champions of Taekwon-do-Wales. Throughout this year the team have achieved great successes, and created numerous Welsh, English and British Champions.

The medal achievement in 2024 saw the team bring in 144 medals overall, with 53 of which being gold. However, 2025 saw the team crush this total to bring in a massive 252 medals, and 90 of which, gold.

We are looking forward to 2026 where the team initiate the competition campaign at the Flanders Fields Tournament in Belgium, which is hosting over 25 countries.
